In early 2024 I had a revelatory moment when I saw this painting by Frank Stella. I was very attracted to this particular work and was mystified about why. A few days later while editing photographs at home I saw my "DIRT FRESH" photograph, shown here also. I was gripped by it's similar feel to Stella's painting. The experience helped me understand my own pictures better. I named this portfolio, and my book of the same name, in homage to the Color Field painters.
